In a powerful tribute to female leadership and social impact, the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) Chandigarh Council hosted a grand award ceremony and cultural showcase at the Piccadilly Hotel, Sector 22, on March 14, 2026. The event brought together visionary leaders, change-makers, and icons from various sectors to celebrate the spirit of “Women Creating a Better World for All.”
The evening commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a captivating classical dance performance by Kirti. Dr. Deepika Bahri, President of WICCI Chandigarh, delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the Council’s commitment to fostering a robust ecosystem for women entrepreneurs and professionals.
Distinguished Awardees:
The core of the evening was the distribution of awards across three prestigious categories. Among the prominent figures recognized for their exceptional contributions and leadership were Adv. Parul Mehta, Amanjit Kaur Grewal, Poonam Ahluwalia, Pallawi Chakraborty, Harleen Bakshi, Kanika Sethi, Rishu Garg, Binishri K and Gurmehar Kaur.
The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Sunita Seshadri, Regional Director at the Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women & Child Development (Ministry of Women & Child Development, GOI), and Guest of Honour Pam Rajput, Founding Director of the Centre for Women’s Studies, Panjab University. Beyond the accolades, the event featured interactive segments hosted by Ms. Pashneet Kaur and Ms. Kamakshi, providing an engaging atmosphere for the attendees. The evening also recognized the entrepreneurial spirit of local stall holders, who were felicitated for their participation during the iconic women’s segment.
Following a vibrant group dance performance, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were formally felicitated for their lifelong dedication to women’s causes. The formal proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Richa Ranjan, Vice President of WICCI Chandigarh, who expressed gratitude to the partners, awardees, and the council’s leadership for making the event a resounding success.
